Trainee - What is a CEU?
|
||||||
CEU means Continuing Educational Unit. The Department of Labor and Industries certifies specific classes as suitable for between 4 and 24 CEUs. Not all courses offered are certified. Electricians have to get 8 CEUs per year to renew their card. CEUs are further broken into trainee courses, CODE required courses, and industry related courses.

Trainee - How many hours of CEUs does a trainee have to get to renew their card? |

16 hours of trainee approved classroom hours.

Trainee - Do I have to take classes before I can get a trainee card?
|
||||||
No. But to renew a trainee card, even after being away from the electrical profession for a number of years, a trainee has to get 16 hours of CEUs to renew.

Trainee - Can a trainee take Online Internet classes?
|
||||||
No. Trainees must take designated trainee classes, and they are all classroom taught.

Trainee - Can a trainee take an exam preparation class?
|
||||||
Yes it is professionally smart to take an exam preparatory class because most (80%+) trainees fail their first exam,. However, the CEUs will not count towards renewal of their trainee card.

Trainee – Can I take all 16 hours of CEUs in one weekend at CEU-WA?

||||||
Yes, classes start at 9 am to 5 pm

Calculator; orange, yellow, and green highlighters; pen, pencil, and paper; a sack lunch and liquids to drink; texts (UGLYs, NEC, RCW/WAC) if you have them (they can be bought at class).

Cost - How much does a class cost?
|
||||||
As low as $25 per class as follows: $120 per 8 hour CEU classroom course (trainees and journeymen)- $90 if pre registered Specialty electrician exam prep course: $360 - $270 if pre registered EL01/02 AD01/02 exam prep: $480 - $360 if pre registered Jobsite training: Kitsap County: $450/day for up to 10, $45 each student above ten (8 CEU
course) books extra, most students already have them: UGLYs, NEC, and RCW-WAC
Internet courses (journeymen and administrators only): $60/ class No refunds within 48 hours of class start (We must be notified Wed night for a Sat Class cancellation)

On Bainbridge Island on HWY 305 turn west at the 3 mile marker on Koura Road. Go past the golf course and through the first stop sign, and enter a forest. Turn right (north) at Olympic Terrace, go to end, turn right on Heron, at bottom of hill turn right on Bayview. Go 100 yards, park in turnaround. Site is 2nd from end on left with wooden gate. |

| Internet - What happens if I do not pass the final exam for an internet class? | ||||||
You are given an email on subjects that need to be reviewed, and after a study period you can retake the test as many times as necessary and pass the class at no additional fee (unlike our competitors).
